Sometimes I get a little antsy for change. I have a vision in my mind of something and then I just have to do it! Recently, I was feeling the itch for change. I live in an historic home that has a small living room that leaves only one configuration for furniture placement. ugggghhhhh. When I feel the need for change, most of the time a good room switch-a-do fixes it! But because our room is not made that way, I couldn’t find a way to fix it. 🙂
I started dreaming about my dream living room and searched Pinterest for fun looks and such…so I impulsively sold our couches, coffee table, and television armoire. O.o And our room was bare. I’m not sure that I recommend that as a good tactic for redecorating. I don’t have any fun money saving tips to share this time around…we just decided to invest in some good pieces (the first new couch we’ve ever owned!!) and then fill in with Craigslist finds. So here is the before:
Now let me just say, I love my living room. I loved the before and I love the after. There were just some impractical parts of our living room that just didn’t work for our family. The couch was getting dingy despite regular washing of the covers and occasional professional cleaning. The television stand was large and bulky, and while it was pretty, it just didn’t feel like the open and airy look I wanted.
I guess I harness some beach/ocean inspiration. I hadn’t realized it until someone mentioned it to me recently. 🙂 So I really was intentional about “open and airy” this time. ha! I can’t wait to show you what our living room now looks like! 🙂 xo
